B.B King wishes he served in WW2

B.B. King regrets not serving his country in World War Two.The guitar great was saved from full national service because he worked as a cotton picker in Mississippi at a time when plantation owners cut a deal with draft officials to keep their employees in the fields.He tells Parade magazine, "We got only partial basic training, served a few months, and went back to work on the plantation. "So, when I die, there won't be a flag on my coffin." And King also regrets not taking his education more seriously. despite picking up honorary degrees from Yale and Brown universities, he says, "There's never a day goes by that I don't miss having graduated and gone to college."
