She explains, "I know that it's no coincidence that not only was I born 25 years ago, but so was Dreamgirls. And so was Jennifer Hudson.

"I think we were both born for these roles. I don't think it's just a coincidence that we were brought on this earth in the same year.

"I've been preparing for this character my whole life. Even without me knowing".

The former Destiny'S Child star also shares something else with Hudson - the two singers and co-star Anika Noni Rose are all Virgos.
