Gay Lover Plans Paton Book

The gay lover of controversial Bay City Rollers manager Tam Paton is writing an expose on his life with the music mogul.

Paton, who managed the Scottish rockers at the height of their fame in the 1970s, died in April (09) at the age of 70.

Now his former boyfriend, Ray Cotter, has stepped forward with plans tolift the lid on their life together.

Cotter, who was just 18 when he first met Paton, alleges the star had him beaten up after their vicious arguments, and once threw him out on thestreet when he couldn't afford to pay his rent, according to Scotland's Daily Record newspaper.

He got away with it because people were scared of his criminal connections

The 48 year old, who split from Paton in 2003, admits he was spurred onto write the book after the star failed to include him in his will.

Cotter says, "I was shocked that Tam never left me a penny after I stood by him for 20 years. The bad outweighed the good in our relationship and now I'm going to put it all in a book. I've seen him do horrendous things, like putting drugs in people's drinks. He got away with it because people were scared of his criminal connections".

Paton was dogged by personal problems throughout his life - in 1982 he was convicted of gross indecency and spent a year in jail.

He was also atthe centre of child abuse allegations in 2003 before he was later convicted on charges of drug dealing in 2004.
