Former Beatles star Sir Paul McCartney's next tour will be his last - the music legend is planning a series of massive gigs next year (10) to markhis retirement from the road.

The 67 year old icon is reportedly in negotiations to set up concerts across the globe, including China's famous Tiananmen Square and CheckpointCharlie in Berlin, Germany - the famous crossing point of the Berlin Wall when the country was divided during the Cold War.

And the gigs will mark the end of McCartney's touring career, accordingto British newspaper The Sun.

Paul wants to go out with a bang

A source tells the publication, "Paul wants to go out with a bang. He'splayed countless stadiums over his 50-year career and is on the hunt for the most unusual locations he can find. He realises that the older he gets, the less his body will be able to cope with the demands of extended periods on the road. He might play the odd benefit gig - but other than that he'll be putting his feet up and enjoying retirement.

"The tour in 2010 is likely to last well over a year, by which time he will be almost 70". McCartney's last global trek was 2003's In The World Tour, he has sincetoured the U.S. and appeared at numerous music festivals, one-off shows and charity events.
