Belinda Carlisle Turns to Hairspray

Pop star Belinda Carlisle is putting her brief stint on hit U.S. talent show Dancing With the Stars to good use - she's signed up for the West Endproduction of Hairspray.

The Heaven on Earth hitmaker was the first star eliminated on the most recent season of the popular dancing contest, but she's determined not towaste the professional training she received.

Carlisle is set to take to the London stage as glamorous white supremacist Velma Von Tussle in the feelgood musical.

Her stint in the all-singing all-dancing stage production will start on 26 October (09) and run until January (10).
