Benji Madden planning Harlow’s dating future

Benji Madden is proving to be quite the protective uncle after the Good Charlotte star revealed that he is planning on keeping a shotgun to warn off any potential suitors of his young neice Harlow.

The daughter of Benji’s brother Joel and ‘it girl’ Nicole Richie is ready to celebrate her first birthday next week but despite her tender age, uncle Benji has no qualms about turning violent to protect the youngster as she grows up and attracts male attention.

He tells a website, "I'm going to be keeping a close eye on her. I'll leave the shotgun right by the door."

But Madden has nothing but praise for his brother and Richie's parenting skills - because they put their daughter's needs above their own. He adds, "When they had her, their instincts just kind of came out, and it's amazing to see. They just really put their child above everything.

"Joel is such a great dad and Nicole is the best mum I've ever seen. Joel is all about showing up. His main concern in life is protecting and caring for his family."

Let’s just hope Benji has a license for the gun. Oh and that he doesn’t end up in prison for using it!
