Big Brother gives stars music careers a boost

Mutya Buena

As the latest series of Big Brother gets underway with the latest batch of z-listed celebrities; it seems that the publicity surrounding their imprisonment is doing wonders for their record sales.

Although not all the inmates are musicians, the ones that are will have a nice pay check waiting for them upon their eviction (not just from Channel 4) but thanks to miraculous sales of their ‘hits’

Mutya Buena’s - the ex-Sugababe - solo album Real Girl have shot up by 106 per cent since she entered the Celebrity Big Brother house almost a week ago, and sales of La Toya’s Sexual Feeling album have also soared by 89 per cent. Despite her rather un-sexual attitude in the house.

On top of that, my favourite Big Brother housemate, Coolio, has seen his hit, Gangsta’s Paradise start flying off the shelves since his rendition of the same song on last nights show.

Unsurprisingly though, Michelle Heaton hasn’t done much for Liberty X’s sale; their album X has only seen a small increase, while A1’s A List album isn’t even available to buy anymore! Boo.

Even if she doesn’t win, who’s betting that Mutya releases a new solo album when she leaves the house?
