Boy George
Boy George hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to the law recently, and now his run of bad luck has got even worse after he was forced to evict a DJ pal who is awaiting trial for rape.
A judge ruled that the houseshare was inappropriate given the singer's own recent conviction for false imprisonment of a male escort.
The former Culture Club frontman, real name George O'Dowd, is facing a possible jail term when he is sentenced next week for chaining a male escort to his bed at his London home in 2007.
O'Dowd has let his friend Antony Marnoch - freed on a $15,300 (£10,000) bond - use his residence as a bail address while he awaits trial for the alleged rape of a 12-year-old-boy in a public toilet.
Marnoch - who has DJed at private parties for stars including Madonna and Prince - has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and sexual assault and has been staying with O'Dowd since 12 December.
But, after a tip-off from British tabloid The Sun, a judge at London's Blackfriars Crown Court lifted reporting restrictions on the case and declared it "entirely unsuitable" for Marnoch to stay with O'Dowd in his North London property.
O'Dowd claims he let Marnoch stay with him so he could visit a nearby hospital for regular cancer treatment, saying, "That's what friends are for."
