Brad Paisley was a big winner at the ASCAP Country Music Awards on Monday night after taking home the prestigious trophy for Artist of the Year.
The annual event honors the industry's best in songwriting and publishing, and this year the Welcome to the Future hitmaker earned the top prize for the third time.
Veteran Lyle Lovett picked up the Creative Voice Award for his long list of achievements and inspirational spirit, while Bob McDill was feted with the career milestone Golden Note Award and treated to a special tribute performance by singers Josh Kelley and Ronnie Dunn.
McDill told the crowd, "I know that it's an award for old fellas that thought ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) had forgotten all about them, and they find out they haven't forgotten about them. I've been retired for 12 years. This is like old Home week. It's a lot of fun".
The prizegiving ceremony was held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee.
