Poison frontman Bret Michaels has become the latest star to fall victim to the influenza outbreak - the sick rocker has scrapped a show in Georgia.

Michaels was due to play a solo gig at Club H20 in Columbus, Georgia on Thursday night (08Oct09) but fans were left disappointed when the concert was cancelled just hours before the star was due to take the stage.

The rocker apologised to fans and asked for their "support and understanding" as he recovers.

A post on Michael's official website reads, "Unfortunately due to a case of the flu tonight's Bret Michaels performance at Club H20 has been postponed until further notice. Thanks for your support & understanding!"

Backstreet Boys star Brian Littrell was quarantined in a New York hotel after falling ill with swine flu on a flight from Japan to the U.S. last weekend (03Oct09), while actor David Boreanaz forced the shut down of his Bones TV show after he was diagnosed with influenza.
