Brooks And Dunn Take Final Bow At Nashville Fundraiser

Country icons Brooks and Dunn ended their onstage partnership after 19 years on Thursday night (02Sep10) by performing the song that shot them to fame at a charity concert in Nashville, Tennessee.

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn brought their long-running career to an end during the final stop on their Last Rodeo Tour at the country music mecca's Bridgestone Arena, and the pair delighted fans at the sold out gig by running through their vast collection of hit songs, including My Maria, Red Dirt Road and Neon Moon.

They were joined onstage by Reba McEntire, their only guest vocalist, during the track Cowgirls Don't Cry and the duo kept the night lighthearted, joking about the reasons for their split throughout the concert.

He said, Most importantly, to the people who paid our rent for the last 20 years, all I can say is, thanks

Early on in their set, Brooks told the audience, "This isn't a funeral.We did show up to party".

And they had fans on their feet as they closed out the show with an encore of their 1991 debut Brand New Man, with Brooks paying special tributeto the band's loyal devotees.

He said, "Most importantly, to the people who paid our rent for the last 20 years, all I can say is, thanks".

The concert doubled as a fundraiser for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

The stars are both set to relaunch their respective solo careers following the break-up.
