Ricky Gervais and Bruce Springsten to put on entertainment for Heroes

Ricky Gervais and Bruce Springsteen are to join together to provide a night of entertainment for New Yorkers in a bid to raise money for military families in need.

The funnyman and Born to Run star will take part in the Stand Up for Heros even at the Beacon Theatre on 9 November. The event will kick start the New York Comedy Festival.

TV host Jon Stewart and comedian Jim Gaffigan will also be on hand to lenf their support, and Gervais feels blessed just to be involved: "There is no greater honour for me than being asked to be part of this event."
