Ferry's Son Denies Election Fraud

Bryan Ferry's son Isaac has denied he deliberately misled voters after being dropped as a UK election candidate because he is too young. The 20-year-old falls just short of the mandatory age minimum of 21, and will no longer be considered as a candidate in London's Holland Park area. Ferry, who will turn 21 on 16 May, had been accepted as a Green Party single-issue candidate, focusing on stopping council plans to sell Holland Park School's playing fields to housing developers. There are concerns that Ferry's disqualification could have an adverse effect on the local election next month (04MAY06) because his name will still appear on already-printed ballot papers. A Green Party spokesperson says, "The Green Party agent in (the London borough of) Kensington and Chelsea acted in good faith believing Mr Ferry was 21." Ferry, who could be charged with breaching the Representation of the Peoples Act, says, "There was no deceit on my behalf." Ferry's brother OTIS was arrested last year (05) after he stormed the House of Commons to protest against legislation outlawing blood sports.
