Busta Rhymes has paid tribute to hip-hop pioneer Dj Roc Raida, following his sudden death on Saturday (19Sep09).
The star, real name Anthony Williams, was hospitalized last week (ends18Sep09) after suffering a spinal injury during mixed martial arts practise.
He underwent two successful surgeries on his back and was reported to be making steps towards recovery.
However, The X-Ecutioners spinner encountered health complications in the early hours of Saturday and was pronounced dead at the age of 37.
Busta Rhymes broke the news on his Twitter.com blog, honouring his tourDJ and vowing to keep his memory alive.
He wrote, "I am sorry 2 (sic) say that on this day at 205 Sept 19th welost another incredible life...Dj Roc Raida died 2day (sic) my personal Dj is gone... I just wanna thank everyone 4 ur love and support and ur prayers (sic)...We will never let ur (sic) name die Roc...We love u and will 4ever miss u (sic)...Rip".

The DJ, also known as Grandmaster Roc Raida, was one of the original members of turntable crew the X-Men, who later became known as The X-Ecutioners.
He rose to international stardom after landing the Dmc World DJ Championship title in 1995 and went on to produce tracks for artists including Fat Joe, Ghostface Killah, Linkin Park and Pink.
Williams is survived by his wife, mother and three daughters.
