Carly Rae Jepsen is a young Canadian singer who seems to have burst on the music scene with the extremely catchy songs. Her new song “Call Me Maybe”, is creating a stir in the celebrity world.
Popular songs usually have spoofs made of them relatively quick after release. But most of the time they are made of young fans in their bedrooms. Not this time. Her song has been covered on not one, but three separate occasions by celebrities.
Way back in February, Justin Beiber and girlfriend Selina Gomez uploaded a video of themselves and their friends lip-syncing and dancing to the song. Other famous faces in the video included High School Musical’s Ashley Tisdale and Big Time Rush.
With her newly dyed purple hair, Katy Perry and friends also give a video a go. Filmed in front of the pool on a sunny day, the group look like they are having a blast.
But now Radio 1 has got in on the act and have created their very own video. Carly Rae Jepsen was on the show this week and they filmed it in dedication to her. A number of dj’s performed, included Nick Grimshaw, Greg James, Sara Cox, Annie Mac, Reggie Yates and Scott Mills. Big faces in the music business also joined in. Beth Ditto, The Scissor Sisters and The Saturdays .
Is this the last of the homage’s to Carly Rae Jepsen, or is it just the beginning?
