Singer Carnie Wilson is pleading for help as she chronicles her weight loss battle on U.S. TV, because she doesn't want her children to see her die young.

I don't want to be drastic

The Wilson Phillips singer, who once weighed in at 300 pounds (136 kilograms), famously underwent gastric bypass surgery in 1999 and lost half of her body weight.

She piled on the pounds once again while pregnant with daughters Lola, four, and Luciana, eight months, and signed on to star in her own realityshow Carnie Wilson Unstapled to get her back on track.

But after recently weighing in at 212 pounds (96 kilograms), the 41 year old admits she needs all the help she can get so that she can live longenough to see her kids grow up.

She tells People.com, "I need help. Having children derailed me a bit. I don't want to be drastic. I want to be realistic. I have to be a teacher to my daughters. Lola started to notice commercials on TV with people who are trying to lose weight, and she looks at me. She's thinking about this stuff, and it's getting to her".
