Actress Eva Longoria Parker loves being a wife - but has to work hard on her marriage to make it stronger.

The Desperate Housewives star wed basketball player Tony Parker last summer (07) and the pair can often find themselves apart because of busy workloads - but the actress doesn't let that get in the way of their relati onship.

She tells Glamour magazine, "Marriage is a commitment, so you always ha ve to work at it.

For us, just juggling schedules is the biggest obstacle we have, and we don't even really have a problem with that either

The diminutive actress reveals she is more of a traditional wife than h er character in the hit show - and always makes sure her husband is well looked after.

She adds, "I love having dinner ready and making sure his clothes are ironed and that he's packed and ready when he goes on road trips.

I'm the gardener (in our relationship).

But the only way you get to forever is one day at a time".
