Investment Company Pays for Church's Comeback

Former child star Charlotte Church has teamed up with an investment company to launch her comeback.

The savvy singer has reportedly agreed a $3 million (Gbp2 million) dealwith bosses at London-based Power Amp Music, who will fund the recordingof her new album.

Church has taken time away from the spotlight in recent years after a successful crossover from classical music to pop - to become a mum - and now she's ready to pick up her career.

Power Amp Music bosses previously signed British act Madness, and funded their The Liberty of Norton Folgate album in 2009.

Church says, "This is a wonderful time to be a recording artist. I am delighted to have signed a groundbreaking deal with Power Amp. It provides me with a financial commitment equivalent to that of a major record company, but with a much greater degree of control and ownership over my career".

In announcing her comeback plans, Church has also revealed she'll be among the judges on a British TV talent show, on which wannabes will fight for the chance to land the lead of Dorothy in Andrew Lloyd Webber's new The Wizard of Oz musical.
