Cole's Divorce Granted

British singer Cheryl Cole's marriage to soccer ace Ashley was officiallydeclared dead on Friday (03Sep10) when they were granted a divorce.

The Girls Aloud star separated from England international Cole in February (10) after four years of marriage amid allegations he cheated on her with a string of women.

She filed for divorce on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour, and on Friday District Judge Christopher Simmonds granted the couple a decree nisi.

Neither party attended London's High Court Family Division and the order was passed in just over a minute.

They must now wait six weeks before adecree absolute is issued, officially ending their union.

The pair married in 2006 and has no children.
