The Godfather of Go-Go sparked fears for his health after he cancelled live dates and was hospitalised last month (Apr12) to receive treatment for fatigue and joint pain.

Posts declaring his demise then began circulating on Twitter.com, but the 75-year-old singerguitarist is alive and recovering well, according to his daughter Cherita Whiting.

She tells The Washington Post, "It's nothing life-threatening. He's just getting some much-needed rest... Get ready for him when he hits the stage again".

Whiting also begged fans to quit speculating about her dad's condition, adding, "Please stop the rumours. I just wish people would put themselves in our shoes... With social media, stuff spreads so fast and it's not right".
