California's top promoters are making plans to expand the Coachella festival over five weekends.
Promoters at Goldenvoice doubled up the fun at this year's spring event by staging the show over two weekends, and now they are hoping to add another three to make it an annual five weekend spectacular.
The plans have been revealed in a Notice of Preparation filed in Indio, California and obtained by local newspaper the Desert Sun.
According to the documents, officials are investigating the impact five festivals annually would have on the local environment between now and 2030.
Reports suggest three of the festivals would be held over consecutive, three-day weekends in the spring, while another two would take place later in the year.
There are also plans to increase the attendance and acreage of the traditional Coachella site from 95,000 and 535 acres.
Meanwhile, the promoters are planning another Coachella venture this winter when the inaugural S.S. Coachella sets sail for the Festival at Sea.
Pulp will headline the high seas event.
