Fans of tragic nirvana star kurt cobain gathered at one of the rocker's famous sanctuary spots on tuesday (05apr11) for the unveiling of a guitar memorial to mark the 17th anniversary of his death.
Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994, was honored with a 13-foot (3.9 meter) statue of a guitar, created by artist lora malakoff, in an aberdeen, washington park.
Malakoff tells tmz.com the site of the statue is important - the guitar will rest near the infamous young street bridge, which the musician often sought refuge under to write lyrics.
