British singer Craig David feared he would be attacked by snakes and "bleed to death" during his charity trek across the Kenyan desert because he was surrounded by deadly wildlife.

The Fill Me In hitmaker endured soaring temperatures to walk 62 miles (100 kilometres) across the Kaisut Desert last month (Feb11) to raise cashfor Britain's Comic Relief.

He was joined on the charity mission by other British stars, including actresses Nadia Sawalha and Kara Tointon, and has revealed they were terrified of what lay ahead after a pep talk from instructors.

David tells Britain's Celebs on Sunday magazine, "Beforehand, we'd beenbriefed about all the dangerous creatures out in the desert. If one particular snake bites you, your respiratory tract closes and you bleed to death. Another type of bite affects your nervous system and you bleed to death - another makes your muscles waste then, well, you know the rest. "Bleeding to death was pretty much a constant theme.

Each night we had to get to a certain point to make our camp so we didn't end up in dangerous places where lions and hyenas come out in the dark". The group spent five days on the trek, raising more than $1.3 million (£850,000) for good causes.
