The Razor guitarist received the harrowing news in April (12) and is undergoing treatment while his fellow Razor rockers are reorganising their future plans for the band.
Bassist Mike Campagnolo tells Blabbermouth.net, "We are working on new material for another album and we were blindsided by this news, but Dave is in great spirits".
Razor formed in Ontario, Canada in 1984 and split in both 1992 and 2005, reforming with different line-ups.
Carlo has been the only constant member throughout the band's history.
