Dave Grohl Leads Rolling Stone Awards

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was the toast of Australia on Thursday night (21Jan10) - landing a top prize at the country's first Rolling Stone Awards.

The legendary rocker was named Best Male at the ceremony in Sydney and accepted the honour via video link.

Pop star Pink was also among the winners, taking home the coveted Artist of the Year prize, and veteran Canadian heavy metal group Anvil was handed the Rolling Stone Award.

Meanwhile many of the prizes went to homegrown talent - Australian musician Sarah Blasko was crowned Best Female, rockers Temper Trap were named the artist to watch, while Powderfinger took home the Best Album trophy and The Drones landed Best Live Act award.
