Sheffield Honours Def Leppard.Rockers DEF LEPPARD have been honoured by their home city of Sheffield, England, after being inducted into its Hall Of Fame.The honour was the result of a vote by local residents who were asked to consider people who have brought their city the most recognition at a national or international level. The LET'S GET ROCKED hitmakers unveiled a bronze plaque at the new Hall Of Fame, outside the city's town hall yesterday afternoon (16JUN06).Council leader JAN WILSON says, "Def Leppard truly deserve their place as Sheffield legends and have been great ambassadors for the city wherever they have performed throughout the world and the nominations they received reflected this."In terms of international record sales, they are up there with the top musicians of all time."Def Leppard formed in 1977 and went on to become one of the biggest selling bands of the 1980s, with hit albums including PYROMANIA and HYSTERIA.
