Dido Puts Singing on Hold

Dido plans to put her singing career on hold - in order to fulfil her dream of playing drums in a band.The Thank you hitmaker wants to swap her microphone for drumsticks after taking up the percussion instrument while making new album Safe Trip Home.

That would be really interesting

She tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "Drumming made me listen to music differently - especially when I started playing along with things. I would do this thing of playing along with my iPod. "I'd actually love to be in a band at some point. The thing that would excite me next, to learn more, would be to play for someone else while they're singing. That would be really interesting.".
