Drew McConnell Walking Again After Breaking His Back

Drew McConnell is walking again, less than six months after breaking his back in a horrific road crash.

The Babyshambles bassist snapped his spine in three places and sufferedbroken ribs and injuries to a shoulder and knee when a car ran a red light and knocked him off his bicycle last July (11).

He underwent surgery and has had metal plates inserted into his back - but he's already on his feet and undergoing intense physiotherapy sessions to restore him to full health.

McConnell tells Nme magazine, "I'd broken my spine in three places, andit was pretty savage... I'm mobile again - I've been going to physiotherapy every day. I'm on my feet again".
