Flo Rida has hit back an allegations he underpaid a former assistant, insisting the woman was a volunteer he gave "an opportunity out of the goodness of my heart".

Mahogany Miller recently filed suit against the Low hitmaker, claiming she began working for the hip-hop star as his administrative assistant back in August (11) and put in around 65 hours-a-week for just $3.08 (£1.90) an hour.

She's seeking unspecified damages after alleging she was sacked less than a day after she complained about the hours and pay.

But the chart star's lawyer Sandy Becher tells TMZ.com Miller was neverofficially hired as an employee and was working as an unpaid volunteer, who was occasionally given money for her lunch and gas.

Becher claims Miller was fired because her behaviour was "inappropriatefor the workplace environment".

The rapper adds, "This is ridiculous that I gave someone an opportunityout of the goodness of my heart and now sadly I am being falsely targeted".
