Gallagher praises new hall of fame plans

Noel Gallagher is pleased with official’s plans to build a hall of fame for musicians from Manchester, his home city.

  The guitarist is proud of his Northern English roots and is delighted the memorabilia exhibition is in the works.

  He says, "Manchester has always punched above its weight musically and it's high time this was celebrated in a way that will act as an inspiration to the next generation of artists."

  Gallagher's former band Oasis, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Take That and The Happy Mondays all hail from the city and are rumoured to be among those honoured in the upcoming event.
