Michael Eavis snubs U2Irish rockers U2 have been snubbed by Glastonbury Festival organiser MICHAEL EAVIS for a future appearance at the legendary music event, because he would rather champion new acts.Eavis has tried and failed to add the VERTIGO hitmakers to the festival bill on so many occasions he's now given up hope of them ever headlining.

Razorlight preferred to U2

In the face of annual rejection, Eavis has turned his attention to up and coming acts instead.

He says, "I'm not doing the U2 thing again. They've got to phone me now, I can tell you that. A lot of these new bands are creeping up fast.

"The best bands of this year have been KAISER CHIEFS, RAZORLIGHT, BLOC PARTY and there are so many of them out there who are racing up the scale. One of those are going to be headlining eventually. There's plenty of new stuff to choose from. If U2 give me a ring I'd be delighted - but I'm not going to ring them anymore."Meanwhile pop beauty KYLIE MINOGUE has been invited to headline the next Glastonbury Festival in 2007, after she was forced to cancel her appearance at this year's (05) event following her breast cancer diagnosis. The Australian singer pulled out of the weekend's (24-26JUN05) annual music event in Somerset, England last month (MAY05) after she discovered she was suffering from the potentially-terminal illness.

After undergoing surgery to remove a lump from her breast, Minogue is now recuperating with her family and French actor boyfriend OLIVIER MARTINEZ.

However, Glastonbury organiser MICHAEL EAVIS, is eager for Minogue to perform at the festival in 2007. The festival is taking a year off in 2006.

He says, "We sent a message to Kylie wishing her well. And maybe we can get her for 2007."
