Rage Against the Machine Keep Free Gig Promise

Rockers Rage Against the Machine have kept their promise to reward fans for helping them top the U.K. Christmas charts - they have booked a massive free gig in London in June (10).
The Californian band snatched the coveted top spot from the winner of Simon Cowell's talent show The X Factor, following an internet campaign tostop a four-year run of reality show stars ruling the festive charts.
The Guerrilla Radio hitmakers topped 18-year-old Joe McElderry with there-release of their 1992 hit Killing In The Name in December (09).

The rockers pledged to hold a free show for their fans if they managed to reach the number one slot - and now they have revealed they will stagethe concert at the British capital's 40,000-capacity Finsbury Park on 6 June (10).
Tickets for the event will be distributed in a ballot system - fans have until 14 February (10) to register their details for the ticket lottery.
Speaking on the U.K.'s Radio 1, guitarist Tom Morello says, "We promised to play a free show if our song was number one at Christmas and here wecome. We were very happy that our song was a vehicle for what was truly a grassroots people's revolution. It was not so much the band as the people who toppled the X Factor giant - frankly it was a shock wave around the world".
