Gwen Stefani turned 40 in style on Saturday with a star-studded lunchtime birthday bash at a West Hollywood Italian restaurant.

The rocker/designer took over Cecconi's famous Butterfly Room for the intimate bash, which included her husband Gavin Rossdale and best pal Kate Beckinsale and her director husband Len Wiseman.

The long afternoon party concluded when the birthday girl was surprised with a big cake decorated with candles and sparklers.
