Paltrow's Former Relationship Woes

Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about a former lover who wrecked their relationship with his obsession with drugs and alcohol.

The Hollywood actress is now married to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, but admits many of her previous romances were far from happy.

And Paltrow recalls one boyfriend in particular, who she refuses to name, made her miserable because his addictions were spiralling out of control.

She says, "When I was much younger I was involved with somebody where they weren't married but were into drugs and alcohol... I was obsessed with why this person wasn't showing up.

"I was raised by people who made me feel really good about myself. I still got caught up in this thing of, 'What's wrong with me? Why isn't thisturning out the way I want?'"

Paltrow was previously engaged to actor Brad Pitt and has also been romantically linked to stars including Ben Affleck and Luke Wilson.
