The Stone Roses rockers reform at a Manchester gig on Friday night.
The pair appeared at The Ritz venue for a charity concert after 16 years apart.
According to NME.com, Brown and Squires played the Stone Rose' track Elizabeth My Dear at a concert in aid of the Mick Jones' Hillsborough Justice Campaign tour. The gig raised money for the campaign set up by the relatives of the 96 people who died in the Hillsborough football disaster in 1989.
It is said that the duo played covers of Bankrobber and Armagideon by The Clash at the gig.
This is the first time that Brown and Squires have perfomed together since their split in 1995.
The news comes just a few months after the group announced their comeback tour next summer. The band are to embark on a ten-day tour in the UK and Ireland starting in June 2012.
