One of Michael Jackson’s iconic gloves has sold for more than $350,000 (£219,000) - nearly six times the original estimate.

The late King of Pop's rhinestone-studded accessory, which he wore when he performed his trademark Moonwalk dance move for the first time in 1983, sold to the highest bidder in New York City on Saturday. Experts predicted the glove would sell for around $60,000 (£40,000).

The 36-year-old superfan, Hong Kong resident Hoffman Ma, will end up paying more than $420,000 (£262,500) for the item after taxes.

Other coveted pieces of Jackson memorabilia that went under the hammer at Julien's Auctions Music Icons sale included his fedora hat, which sold for $22,000 (£13,750), and a jacket he wore during his 1989 Bad tour, which went for $225,000 (£140,625).
