Jamelia Breaks Down During Tv Meeting With Dad

British singer Jamelia wept as she was reunited with her estranged father for the first time in six years for a TV documentary.

The Thank You hitmaker's dad, Donald Williams, walked out on his family when the star was a child and the pair slowly lost contact.

They last saw each other in 2004 and they drifted further apart when Williams failed to show up to Jamelia's wedding to soccer star Darren Byfield two years ago (08).

Jamelia confronted her past for U.K. TV show The House That Made Me, which sees celebrities re-visit their childhood homes, and the singer broke down when the pair came face-to-face for the first time in six years.

In the episode, to be aired in Britain on 23 December (10), Jamelia tells the 50 year old, "That was the final straw (when you didn't come to my wedding). I thought you didn't care." He replied: "I never believed that you wanted that input from me."

During the programme, Jamelia speaks candidly about how being abandoned by her dad has affected her own relationships, adding, "My bad decisions in relationships are down to the fact that I didn't have a good role model. I grew up thinking my dad didn't love me."
