Thomas Newman has signed on to score the new James Bond movie.
Skyfall will be the composer's first 007 film but not his first collaboration with director Sam Mendes - the U.S. maestro provided the music for the Brit's movies American Beauty, Road to Perdition and Revolutionary Road.
Newman has been nominated for an Academy Award 10 times without winning gold. He is expected to be among the composers considered this year (12) for his work on The Help and The Iron Lady.
Two of his Oscar nods came from Mendes films - American Beauty and Road to Perdition.
Skyfall is currently in production in England and will hit cinemas - with Newman's score - in November (12).
