James Franco launches music career with drag artist

Movie star, Oscars host, filmmaker and scholar JAMES FRANCO is now launching a music career.

The always-busy 127 Hours star has teamed up with drag artist Kalup Linzy to create new duo Kalup and Franco.
  
 The actor, writer, director recently finished a stint on daytime soap 'General Hospital,' where he invited drag queen, Guggenheim fellow and soap opera satirist Kalum Linzy to perform.
  
The odd couple became friends after the actor invited Linzy to perform on U.S. TV soap General Hospital during Franco's stint on the show.

The duo will release its first EP, Turn It Up, next month (July 11), and Franco and Linzy plan to release videos featuring celebrity guests to accompany all their songs.
