Jessica Simpson is planning to open up about her weight battle in a new U.S. reality TV show called THE PRICE OF BEAUTY.

After months of tabloid speculation about her yo-yoing shape, the singer wants to examine people's perception of what is beautiful.

And she plans to try out the many weird and wonderful methods women around the world use to look good.

A source tells Us Weekly magazine, "She and a friend set off on a road trip around the world in search of what people find beautiful and why".

The 28-year-old's representative confirms, "Jessica is indeed working on a new show, but network details have not been finalized at this time".

It won't be Simpson's first foray onto the small screen - back in 2003, she let cameras into her home to chart her marriage to ex-husband Nick Lachey, in Newlyweds Nick and Jessica.
