Jennifer Aniston's ex is currently working on a new album, and has been holding intimate listening sessions with maids, gardeners and household help passing through his Calabasas pad.
After one recent 'performance' Mayer gave to a group of gardeners, a friend told America's Star magazine, "He sat them in the living room and asked them what they thought of the song. He likes to get feedback. From the caterers, the maids, the neighbours, everyone."
U.S. citizens are banned from the Caribbean island, but Cool managed to find a way in when the band took time out from recording in 2006.
He sat them in the living room and asked them what they thought of the song. He likes to get feedback. From the caterers, the maids, the neighbours, everyone.
He says, "In Cuba I was drumming, learning new rhythms, taking lessons just outside Havana. I was hitchhiking around, going to shows every single night. We'd jump in old busted cars piling smoke. They'd cost a penny to ride and you'd go as far as they'd go, jump out, walk a bit, flag down another car. It was cool."
The rocker has announced plans to host a two-day bash after selling out a brace of shows at Comerica Park on the 17 and 18 of July (09) in his native Detroit.
The star has invited wannabe rockers to compete in a battle of the bands contest on the streets near the venue, and he will even host a chili cook-off and a car show.
Kid Rock will be joined by Alice In Chains and Cypress Hill for the concerts.
