Katy Perry and Russell Brand rang in the New Year planning a wedding after the Brit officially proposed to the singer in Jaipur, India on New Year's Eve, according to new reports.

The couple reportedly agreed to wed before their Christmas trip to India but Brand waited until the last day of the year to present his new fiancee with a ring.

Perry celebrated her reported engagement at the Taj Mahal in Agra, India as the pop star posted a photo of herself and funnyman Russell Brand cuddling in front of the sacred site on her Twitter.com page, joking, "He built this for me..."

Perry and Brand have yet to confirm engagement reports, but a source tells UsMagazine.com the couple will return from India as man and wife-to-be.
