Katy Perry To Become Katy Brand

Cheryl Cole might be more famous now than when she was Cheryl Tweedy, but to be honest, we're not quite sure how we feel about Katy Perry becoming Katy Brand… it just doesn't seem to have the same ring to it.

Regardless of what we think, the pop princess has revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that she plans to change her last name to Brand, in fact, she's been unofficially Mrs Brand since she got hitched; “Like if I’m at an event and they want special attention, they go ‘Mrs Brand’ and I go shwoosh [looks back]”.

Katy also spoke to chat show host Ellen about Helen Mirren, who’s a co-star of Russell’s in The Tempest, and has struck up a strong friendship with the comedian-turned-actor. The legendary Brit actress has been quoting as saying, “I’m just very jealous of Katy being married to him.”

Katy joked back, “She needs to step off my man. Actually, I kind of don’t mind that someone else takes some of the responsibility, because it’s a lot of work [being married to Brand]. He’s a smorgasbord of things. A sense of humour is really important in our household. That’s how we de-stress, and we like to have a laugh.”
