Katy Perry is determined to show off her love for Freddie Mercury - the singer wants a giant tattoo of the late star's face etched on her back.

The I Kissed A Girl hitmaker has regularly cited Mercury - who died in 1991 - as the biggest influence on her musical career.

I nearly got a huge tattoo of Freddie Mercury’s face on my back a few years ago. It’s probably for the best that I didn’t get it done, but I still want to do it.

And Perry is planning a tribute to her idol with a unique piece of body art.

She says, "I nearly got a huge tattoo of Freddie Mercury’s face on my back a few years ago. It’s probably for the best that I didn’t get it done, but I still want to do it."
