Kelly Clarkson wants to write musical

Kelly Clarkson is keen to show her songwriting skills by writing a hit Broadway musical.

The Miss Independent singer has topped the charts and showed off her acting talents on Reba McEntire's TV comedy, Reba, and now she wants to go into the big stage productions.

Clarkson, 29, sets her sights on the bright lights of New York for her future project.

She tells USA Today: "I think at some point in my 30s, I don't know if I want to do a revival show or something, like bring back Funny Girl, or start a completely-from-scratch musical. That's something I really want to do. I love Broadway."
