Kevin McKidd Making a Move Into Music

Kevin McKidd is swapping acting for singing to record a folk album.

The Trainspotting star has headed back to his native Scotland to work on the material with local musicians.

On his Twitter.com page, he writes, "It is a week long recording of local musicians from my home area, all old Scottish songs. Done in hopefullya new way".

McKidd, who has found success on U.S. TV in Grey's Anatomy, has previously spoken of his passion for music, saying, "I annoy my family by playing guitar in the house.

"I used to be into acoustic stuff but my son Josephis learning drums, so now I have an electric guitar and we play Metallica".
