Kurt Cobain's Guitar Sells for $100,000

A smashed guitar which once belonged to late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has sold at auction for $100,000 (£68,493).The sale was confirmed on Tuesday (23Dec08) by the senior curator of the Experience Music Project in Seattle, Washington, where the taped-up Fender Mustang had been on display.The guitar was owned by punk rocker Sluggo of The Grannies and Hullabaloo. The star claimed to have traded Cobain a working guitar for the broken instrument in the legendary band's early days, after the late singer smashed it on stage and couldn't afford to replace it.Cobain committed suicide in 1994.0Comments | Be the first to comment!
