Avril Lavigne has an unlikely new duet partner - Kate Hudson.

The two stars teamed up to perform at legendary songwriter David Foster's wedding reception on Friday.

Foster wed model Yolanda Hadid and Us Weekly reports Lavigne and Hudson were among the performers at the nuptials.

Lavigne, 27, attended the ceremony with boyfriend Brody Jenner - Foster's one-time stepson.

Michael Buble and Kenny G also performed after Foster exchanged vows with his new wife.
