Leona Lewis and Plan B are to share the secrets of their success with keen youngsters after signing up to speak at a music academy masterclass in London.

It's important for us to come back and help and support those in the community who are doing amazing things

The stars, as well as rappers Labrinth and Dizzee Rascal, are backing the BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra Academy initiative in the borough of Hackney, and hope their tips will inspire wannabes to fulfil their dreams.

Lewis tells Britain's Daily Star, "I grew up in Hackney and when I heard about the initiatives, I wanted to get involved. Young people relate tous more than politicians, especially with us coming from around here. "It's important for us to come back and help and support those in the community who are doing amazing things.

My aunt runs a dance and music group and is an influential person in the community she grew up in". Plan B adds, "Me or Leona coming and planting one seed and walking awaycan help to shape people's lives". The academy will open on 1 June (12).
