Rapper Lil' Wayne left hundreds of fans disappointed on Sunday (21Oct07), when he failed to show up for a high school performance in Hanover, North Carolina.The gig had originally been cancelled by the New Hanover County School Board due to fears of gang violence.However, Lil' Wayne's concert promoter threatened breach of contract legal action over the cancellation, and the show was set to go ahead after organisers agreed to draft in extra security.

Despite the pre-gig troubles, Lil' Wayne didn't take the stage at all, disappointing fans who are now clamouring for a refund, according to website Tmz.com.Other reports suggest the concert was called off due to poor ticket sales, although over 4,000 fans attended.
